Hands-On Learning in Introductory Biology At the introductory biology level, hands-on learning methods begin training novice learner-scientists primarily college freshmen to develop the observational and descriptive skills necessary for accurate, precise, and concise scientific observation Nersessian Course-Based Research Course-based research projects allow students in a class to contribute directly to the research agenda of the faculty member teaching a particular specialty class.
